Service Level Benchmarking for Water Supply in Surat (Year 2009)

The Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India has chosen the city of Surat as one of the pilot cities for implementing Service Level Benchmarking for the following urban services:
- Drinking water Supply
- Sewerage facilities
- Solid waste management
- Storm water Drainage
The Ministry of Urban development has standardized few performance indicators to define the Service Level Benchmarks for four urban basic services. The performance indicators means of measurement, jurisdiction of measurement and reporting have also been streamlined to maintain homogeneity in performance assessment of Urban Local Bodies.
As regards to service level benchmarking in water supply, following parameters are observed.
