Pathology Department encompasses 5 sections – Haematology / Clinicalpathology / Histopathology / Cytopathology / Autopsy and plays a pivotal role to render diagnostic services for all outdoor & indoor patients.

Emergency Services

Investigations pertaining to Haematology, Clinical Pathology are available 24 hours round the clock.

Routine Services

Special investigation for diagnosis of Abnormal Haemoglobinopathies are done with HPLC technology.

Surgical specimens are processed & diagnosed in Histopathology section with frozen section facility for intra-operative diagnosis. Immunohistochemistry is applied as & when required to confirm the diagnosis.

The Cytology section caters to the diagnosis of FNAC's, Pap smears & Fluid samples.

The post mortem specimens are received in Autopsy section for the Histopathology diagnosis.

Each section is empowered with befitting cutting edge technology in all procured instruments to benefit the patients as well as to provide advanced learning experience to the post-graduate students.

Teaching Facilities

  • Department Library is having 385 Books.
  • Museum is having 443 specimens
  • Audiovisual aids.
  • Post – graduate students are posted for training in various sections as per rotation including Blood Bank.
  • Extramural posting for Immunopathology, Cytogenetics, Molecular Biology are also delegated in private lab.
  • Academic activities for PG students are conducted in department in form of slide seminars, symposium, case discussions, journal reading etc. Clinicopathological Correlation(CPC), Grossing, Guest Lectures.

  • Research Microscope with photomicrography apparatus.
  • Penta- head Microscope.
  • All other diagnostic facilities in various sections.
