Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has built the SMC Water Status app as a personalized app for SMC employees. This SERVICE is provided by Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) at no cost and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform application users regarding organization’s policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of device Information if anyone decided to use our Service.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The any Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which is accessible at SMC Water Status unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

We collect information such as Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, Operating System Version and other device information, etc.
Your device information shall help us customize the service(s) offering and enhance your experience in future.
We are not collecting any personal informations from users like mobile number, email address, location informations, gender, age, physical addresses, etc.
We are not collecting any sensitive user's informations from user device's like contact details, media, locations through our application.
None of your deivce informations shall be shared with any other individual and/or any other party without your express consent except that required by or under applicable laws.
Device information as submitted and/or captured may be shared with law enforcement agencies and other Government departments if we have a good faith/belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:
- Meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable government request.
- Enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations.
- Detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.
It will be a constant endeavor to protect the system from unauthorized access or unauthorized alterations, disclosure or destruction of information. In particular, all the information will be held in encrypted form and the communication channels for accessing the portal and transfer of data are encrypted using SSL as permissible under the law. Further, multi-factor authentication has been deployed to ensure authenticity of the user.

Why do We use your Data?

We shall use your Data for the below purposes:

Device ID for device and permission based management, for user categorization/classifications.
To monitor, analyze and describe usage patterns and performance of the service, including aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, and demographic patterns.
To improve Our services, including testing, research, internal analytics and product development.
To notify you about changes to our App and its services.
To comply with legal requirements, and to protect Our legal rights or the rights of others.
To provide you support and assistance.

User Account

In SMC Water Status app, user does not need to create account, all or some of functionalities of the app are only accessible using given user credentials. Hence user account deletion functionality is not available.

Log Data

We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

This Service does not use these "cookies" explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use "cookies" to collection information and to improve their services.
