Islamic Monuments

The Nausaiyid Mosque Of the Islamic monuments for mosques are worth visiting. The Nausaiyid Mosque stands on the west bank of the Gopi Lake. Besides the mosques are nine warrior's tombs. The Saiyidd Idrus Mosque (1639) has a tall minaret, which is a local landmark, and was built in honour of the ruiling dynasty.

The Mirjan Sami Mausoleom (1540) was erected by Khudawand Khan, in Indo-Iranian style. It has some excellent carving and tracery. Khwaja Diwan Sahib's Mosque (1530) is reputed to be dedicated to a Bokhara traveller who lived to the age of 116 years.

Parsi Temple

Parsi Temple The Fire Temples, of Parsis are also of interest. They are build in the Indo Iranian style. These temples are dated to 1823 A.D.

Jami Masjid

Jami Masjid At Rander 4.8 Km. from the city, the Jami Masjid incorporates some early fragments of masonary. In another near by mosque are beautiful wooden columns and domes.

Chintamani Temple

Chintamani Temple The Jain temple was constructed during the regime of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1699 A.D. It is located at Muglisara, near mausolem of Mirjan Sami. It has not only religious importance but also establishes one of the best example of craftsmanship and drawing of Gujarat. Though the temple is marked by its outward simplicity, the inner parts of temple is a treasury of art.

Clock Tower

Clock Tower This is a historical landmark of the city, the Clock Tower was erected in 1871 at the expenditure of Rs.14,000 by Khan Bahadur Burjorjee Hormusjee Fraser.

J.J. Training School

Sir J.J. Training School Located in front of castle was formerly a English School established in 1827 AD from the donation by Seth Sorabji Jamshedji Jijibhai. Later this school was known as "Sorabji Jamshedji Jijibhai Hish School". In the year 1939 the high school was closed by government to begin a college for training primary school teachers.
