The industrialization of city and Vehicular Discharges are the main cause of creation of disturbance of air quality. Now, it has become necessity to monitor the air quality within city. Surat Municipal Corporation has installed Two sensor based CAQMS in Surat City (Varachha Zone Office & Limbayat Zone Office).Apart for these two locations, GPCB installed seven manual air monitoring station across city. Further, SMC and GPCB has jointly decided to install 7 air quality monitoring stations within city boundaries out of which, 4 CAAQMS stations will be installed by SMC and 3 CAAQMS stations will be installed by GPCB under NCAP funds.
